Saint Francis sends a medical mission to Guatemala through its PA program. Three members of EcoPrint3D got to tag along.
About the program
HUGS is a Saint Francis University medical mission run through the Physician Assistant Science program. Students travel to Guatemala, set up in communities with limited access to care, and treat whoever comes in, using donated medication and medical supplies carried down by the group.
The trip ran four days and the team saw more than 300 patients across several villages and a nursing home. Infants, children, and adults. Most of the group was PA students and faculty, working alongside undergraduate volunteers.
Three members of EcoPrint3D got to tag along. Caleb, Carson, and Luke.
Patient, day, and site figures are Saint Francis reported. The recycling figure is EcoPrint3D work at home over that period, not part of the trip.
